Stage 2 tuning represents a significant performance upgrade that goes beyond simple ECU remapping. While Stage 1 focuses solely on software optimization, Stage 2 combines an upgraded ECU map with essential Forge Motorsport intake  to unlock substantially more power and torque from your Golf R or GTI’s EA888 engine.

The core hardware requirement for Stage 2 is a Forge Motorsport FMINDK40 Intake Kit, Forge Turbo inlet and XFORCE or Milltek high-flow downpipe  which removes the restrictive factory catalytic converter. These modification allows the turbocharger to breathe more freely, reducing backpressure and enabling the turbo to spool faster and generate more boost pressure. Combined with an upgraded intake and intercooler, Stage 2 transforms the EA888 engine’s mid-range punch and top-end power delivery.
